Some Danbury residents have been asking City officials are a hurricane relief collection drive for Puerto Rico. Danbury collected 18 tons of supplies for Danbury, Texas as the sister city recovered from Hurricane Harvey. In that case, someone donated a tractor trailer to drive the supplies down south. Danbury officials say the challenge now would be getting items from here to the U.S. territory. Mayor Mark Boughton says if they are able to find someone willing to fly items to Puerto Rico, the City will set up a collection drive. In the meantime, he is recommending people donate to the Red Cross fund set up for relief.
