Connecticut hospital reports 2 measles cases

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut hospital has treated two patients with measles in the past two weeks.

A spokesman for Yale New Haven Hospital confirmed the cases of the highly contagious disease this weekend.

No additional information about the patients was released.

The state Department of Health announced late last month that a man from New Haven County contracted the state's first case of the measles this year. It was unclear if that case and the two cases reported by the hospital are related.

There were three cases of the measles in the state last year.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported three measles outbreaks nationally this year.

Measles starts with fever, runny nose, cough, red eyes, and sore throat. It's followed by a rash over the whole body.
