FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - More than 80 animals have been rescued from a home in Fairfield. Police received a call Saturday morning from fire department personnel who were assisting the home's resident who was suffering a medical emergency. Police arrived to find the home filled with animal waste and more than 80 cats, chicken, geese, turkeys and ducks. Animal control officers from Fairfield, Westport, Bridgeport and Trumbull removed the animals from the home and brought them to animal shelters for evaluation. The home's resident was taken to a hospital for treatment.
