HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A recording of a call to Hartford police shows the girlfriend of a man shot to death by a city officer the day after Christmas had pleaded with a dispatcher to tell officers not to kill him before the shooting. The woman told the dispatcher that Shamar Ogman had become upset in her home, and she said "Please tell the officers not to kill my daughter's father." A prosecutor investigating the shooting says Officer Ashley Martinez shot Ogman after he refused commands to drop a rifle and pointed it at officers. The police call recording was released Tuesday.
