Six Connecticut wildland firefighters were deployed Friday to help battle wildfires in Quebec, Canada. The crew joined firefighters from Maine and New Hampshire and traveled to Val-d’Or under a regional mutual aid agreement. It was Connecticut’s second wildfire deployment of the season. Another 20-member crew is assisting with a fire in Oregon. State officials say all deployment expenses will be reimbursed by the U.S. Forest Service.
