NFPA Warns of Electric Shock Drowning Risk

The National Fire Protection Association is reminding boaters and swimmers here in Connecticut, to watch for the risk of electric shock drowning this summer. Officials say faulty electrical systems around marinas, docks and boats can energize the water, causing paralysis and drowning. They also recommend regular inspections of pools, hot tubs and boat electrical systems by qualified professionals.
