Listen LiveA 20-person wildland firefighting crew left Connecticut Friday to help battle wildfires in Oregon. The team includes 19 members of the Connecticut Interstate Fire Crew and one firefighter from Rhode Island. State environmental officials say the volunteers are nationally trained in wildfire suppression and incident command. Federal funds will fully reimburse Connecticut for the deployment.
