Connecticut has sent two wildland fire crews to Minnesota to help battle the Bear Trap fire. Four firefighters left August 7, followed by a 10-member crew August 11 for a 14-day assignment. The lightning-caused fire has burned nearly 30,000 acres and merged with another wildfire. Connecticut has deployed 39 firefighters to six states and Quebec this summer.
