Newtown’s wetlands commission has approved a new crossing for a horse trail near a swamp. The Newtown Bridle Lands Association needed to reroute part of its trail after losing access to a homeowner’s property. The approved plan uses gravel wrapped in fabric to carry horses across a wet section while avoiding the most sensitive area. The group hopes to have the route ready for its annual riding event in late October.
