Connecticut officials are encouraging residents and visitors to take advantage of state parks, beaches and historic sites as Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. More than 15 million visitors are expected to use the state’s park system this year, with several historic locations also tied to America’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration. Lifeguard coverage, camping and boating safety programs will be expanded through the summer season.
