Law enforcement agencies in neighboring Putnam County are stepping up enforcement against convicted drunk drivers who bypass or tamper with court-ordered ignition interlock devices. The initiative, funded by New York’s Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, runs through Labor Day and includes overtime patrols and targeted enforcement efforts aimed at keeping impaired drivers off local roads.
