A Flag Day collection in Newtown gathered 118 worn American flags for proper retirement. State lawmakers joined Scouts from Troop 270 to host the drive at C.H. Booth Library. The flags will be retired by Newtown’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 308 in accordance with U.S. Flag Code procedures.
