City officials in Danbury have approved a third municipal dog park near Candlewood Lake, aiming to ease overcrowding at existing sites and reduce complaints at local ballfields. The new fenced-in park at Hatters Park will give dog owners a central location, cutting down traffic to parks on opposite sides of the city. The move also targets ongoing issues with dogs using softball fields, prompting concerns from parents. Environmental officials signed off on the plan, noting minimal risk to nearby Doyles Pond.
